Tony Woods is CEO of Midland Steel Reinforcement Supplies. Tony has over 35 years’ experience within the construction industry with particular emphasis on reinforced concrete structures and frames.
Tony established the company in 1998, in Mountmellick, Co. Laois becoming Ireland’s largest fabricator of reinforcement steel. The Midland Group has established its Head Office there and expanded with facilities in Scotland Newcastle, London Thamesport, London and more recently in Norway and currently now expanded to the USA
His leadership directs strategic development, managing financial performance and growth enabling efficiency, ensuring the groups position is stronger year on year, focusing on customer service collaboration and innovation in BIM through Tekla & Sustainable delivery off rebar.
Tony’s ambition is for Midland Steel Reinforcement Supplies to be the best in the business. This is being achieved through his passion, drive, and innovative nature. Being a Finalist in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, 2006 gave him further encouragement to embrace new methods’ procedures and investment within the Group.
In recent years Tony has established and developed a highly skilled Technical Team focused on Innovation Value Engineering, Rationalisation of reinforcement with a focus on 0% waste Collaborative Working enablingthe team to identify significant saving of time, money, materials, and other resources. This includes Offsite rebar solutions Faster -Fix where appropriate. This is particularly applicable on large scale projects with repetitive elements, tight timelines, and restrictions. Supplies are BIM Level 2 Task certified January 2017. Tony invented our new product on the market, FasterFix Modular Rebar, which is a process from BIM to delivery providing the most efficient sustainable reinforcement solution in the world.
