This award is open to Laois businesses of any size from across all sectors that demonstrate meaningful commitment to the implementation of green and sustainable practices. Entrants to this award must be able to demonstrate a significant proactive commitment to implementing environmentally sustainable business processes.
These may include energy efficiency, green procurement, cleaner production and pollution prevention. The award is designed to recognise products, processes, or policies that support a greener, more sustainable environment.
Judges will look for evidence of elements of the following:
- Evidence of adapting sustainable business practices within the organisation and steps that have been taken to be more environmentally-friendly.
- How the practices benefit the local environment and community
- Has better environmental performance led to improved resource efficiency/ direct cost savings?
